Outreach to the Homeless

Habitat for Humanity

Members of the church work as volunteers at worksites and provide lunch for workers of Habitat for Humanity of Dane County. If you would like to volunteer on dates together with other First Congregational members, contact the Board of Outreach.

In addition to volunteering, First Congregational has raised funds to support two building projects:

• House for Julie Hall and family in honor of long term Habitat volunteer Marzo Bliss.
• House for the Hasani family.

Recycle the Warm Bedding Drive 

Each winter members of First Congregational donate good-quality recycled and new bedding which is provided by St. Vincent de Paul to hundreds of needy people in Madison and its surrounding communities.

Salvation Army Women's Shelter 

Church members volunteer at the Salvation Army's women's shelter on East Washington Ave. Donations of warm clothing, tote bags, duffel bags, hotel-sized toiletries and money to buy bus tickets are welcome. For more information, contact Mari McCarty at 608.238.8837.
