First Congregational
Church offers worship, Christian Education and opportunities
for service and fellowship for all its members and friends,
from the baby just baptized to the members who have belonged
to the church 50 years or more. All are welcome in our church
regardless of race, gender, economic status or sexual orientation.
We offer regularly scheduled programs for children and youth on Sunday mornings during the school year as well as Bible school and church camp opportunities during the summer. Children are encouraged to attend the first part of worship with their families, so they learn about worship.
Adult Christian Education is offered in a variety of settings. Fall and spring church gatherings offer fellowship time followed by adult discussion groups which provide opportunities to learn about a topic in more depth over a period of several weeks. Bible study and membership orientation classes present access to new information about the Christian faith.
Lay ministry is one of the important services that this church provides to support its own members. Our team of Lay Ministers visit or phone members who are homebound, either temporarily or long term.
There are also organizations within the church that provide both an opportunity for fellowship and a chance to learn about faith-related topics. Such organizations include the Women's Fellowship, Congregators, Bounce, Rainbow People, Under 30's and Second Tuesday-Dinner Out. See the Opportunities for Fellowship page for further information.
