Prison Ministry at Oakhill Prison
Yes, the Prison work at Oakhill is going well with volunteers who come to the Family Center to reach out to inmates in order for them to stay connected with their families. Many of you have been very generous with your donations of used greeting cards, art materials for the men to make their own cards to send to children, wives, loved ones. Now we need to ask you if you would be willing to "try out" going behind the walls of prison to see if this might be a good fit for you. We have lost some volunteers recently, and the Family Center needs you to consider a volunteer position. Please call me, 836-7299 to hear more about what we have been doing there for almost 6 years. It is a truly wonderful experience! Jesus asks us to “visit those in prison”. You might get hooked as I did when Jerry Hancock asked me to try it out!
